What if the Secretary of Defense was indicted on perjury and obstruction charges, timed to influence the upcoming Presidential election?
What if the wife of the Democrat President who won that election is behind the plot to arm the terrorists today?

Not the same as now. The Contra’s were anti-Communist. Daniel & Humberto Ortega were Commies. They came to power in Nicaragua by gaining support from the Liberation Theology religious groups in Nicaragua.
Yes, Somoza was a dictator. But they got much worse leadership after him.
Yes, Ollie North & friends were paying for the Contra effort with illegal arms trade after the ComDems cut off funding with the Bolen Amendment. It ended soon after Eugene Hasenfus was shot down in his C-123 with Soviet SAM missle.
