Rush is right, Donald Trump is another Ross Perot, a spoiler.
The reason why Trump can be brash and say what he wants because he’s got money and can own a network if he wanted to.
He doesn’t have to be worried of getting fired from his job.
But Donald Trump as President ? Nope.
Rush also touched on the real danger of a Trump candidacy. When he loses in the GOP primary, he has more than enough cash to mount a third-party effort, and you’ve got 1992 all over again, with the White House being handed to Hillary instead of Bill.
Don’t underestimate the Donald’s ego. It will be very interesting to see how he fares in the early primaries; New Hampshire and South Carolina are cheap media states (with the exception of the Boston market serving southern New Hampshire). Trump is probably making plans to buy every possible commercial availability to flood the airwaves and see how much traction he can generate.
With all the transplanted Massholes in New Hampshire (and Trump’s liberal positions on most social issues, he could get some traction in the Granite State. He won’t play as well in South Carolina, but he could make some noise in Florida, even with Jeb! and Rubio on the ballot.
But the real question is when The Donald pitches a fit and goes third party.
