BALTIMOREProsecutors in the Freddie Gray case have asked the judge to take the unusual step of ordering all evidence to be made confidential before the trial of six police officers charged in his death.
The request seeks to prevent defense lawyers from making public any discovery material they receive in the run-up to the trial. Discovery material, which legally must be turned over to the defense, includes evidence, witness lists and other information.
Prosecutors said they want to avoid what they called unfair pretrial publicity, which they largely blamed on the defense.

IOW they want the rules changed so they can insure convictions.
In the end, the best thing for these cops is for this prosecutor to remain on the job. If she is removed, a professional, experienced prosecutor won’t make the mistakes the elected one is likely to commit.

the right to a fair trial is an individual right-
14th amendment in part: ...nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.
These prosecutors believe the right belongs to the state. No wonder we and these cops are in deep trouble.
Reminds me of something I say at work when one of my coworkers get’s in a bind........I ask:
do you know what the 1st rule of holes is? when they say no I say “When your in one stop digging!”
I’d like to know where she got her law degree, from a cereal box? She stands with thugs and tells them “It’s our time!” ???? And it seems to me the only evidence she has is that the cops didn’t make Gray wear his seatbelt.
She started this case with a press conference and blames the defense for the publicity? If I’m the judge, I ain’t buyin’ it.
