Sheep are plentiful. Stop trying to convince sheep not to follow along or think for themselves. They’ll “walk off the cliff” soon enough.
IMO this is no sheep and I'll explain, IMO, why I think that.
People like to associate with things, and people, they have in common. If they like those same things, such as a candidate, a hobby or a specific interest, people generally tend to bond to each other. Basic human psychology. Do you follow what I'm saying?
Now, if they come to not like someone in particular they also, usually unconsciously, start to also dislike the things that person has in common with them.
So, playing on this human tendency, someone comes on a website in advance of...let's say an election...and befriends a group of people. Then, once the campaigns really start your new "friend" starts to act horribly towards others who have problems with "your shared candidate". All of this...negativity...generated by your friend works to surreptitiously drive people, including you, away from that shared candidate instead of towards them because people slowly begin to not like the new "angry man" that has developed, and his candidate of choice as well, because they associate the "angry man" with that candidate.
Thirty-Six Stratagems
Mask your real goals, by using the ruse of a fake goal, until the real goal is achieved. Tactically, this is known as an 'open feint': in front of everyone, you point west, when your goal is actually in the east.
Psychological warfare at its finest.
