JERSEY CITY — An 18-year old city man charged last Monday with attacking police who arrived at his home to help his sick grandmother says he is the real victim, accusing cops of choking him, hitting his head against a wall and beating him with a nightstick because he wouldn't immediately obey their orders.
The June 8 incident, caught on a cellphone video obtained by The Jersey Journal, is just the latest examples of police harassment aimed at Michael Cortez Jr., according to Cortez and his loved ones.

Watched the video and viola! I was right!
The cops are innocent. When the neighbors start yelling at the cops the cops load up and move out fast to beat the riot.
What else can they do but move fast?
Lesson: Don’t call the cops to your house.
Can’t tell what is happening from that video. There has to be more to the story. What was he doing that caused the cops to give him orders? What happened with grandma? Very poor reporting.
It was intended to be poor so that the truth of the matter might be obscured. I did not watch the video, nor am I a die hard police proponent and apologist. That said, I will bet $100 that the cops are not the bad guy this time.

From what I have seen watching COPS, you can’t obey their orders fast enough.
Well, it could have been kinda rough on the wall and the nightsticks. I learned my lesson the hard way about staying out of their business. All it cost me was getting cussed out and talked to like a dog.
Cortez, his pregnant girlfriend, Cortez, Sr., his cousin, his grandmother, ...........

I would hate to guess how much just these folks cost taxpayers? Pregnant girlfriend will only further increase the burden on taxpayers.
