And so do we.
News and reality are not always the same. Take the matter of marriage.
When a prominent evangelical leader, like Tony Campolo, announces his support for gay marriage, its likely to get reporters attention. It is indeed news, in that it is still unusual to hear an otherwise orthodox Christian announce heterodox views on sexuality. But in the case of Campolo, it may not be the kind of news that garners much attention. (One reason: His organization Red Letter Christians has argued for same-sex marriage several times.)
But we were surprised when former CT editor David Neff on Facebook praised Campolos move. As he put it in an email to me clarifying his comment, I think the ethically responsible thing for gay and lesbian Christians to do is to form lasting, covenanted partnerships. I also believe that the church should help them in those partnerships in the same way the church should fortify traditional marriages.
At CT, were saddened that David has come to this conclusion. Saddened because we firmly believe that the Bible teaches that God intends the most intimate of covenant relationships to be enjoyed exclusively by a man and a woman. Weve stated this view explicitly in many editorials, and it is implicit but clear in many of our feature stories.

Gay marriage is an attempt by the ever-busy left to remove God from marriage, as one step toward removing God from everything else. Christians who approve of gay marriage should be aware that they are not serving God, but rather another power that is somewhat darker in nature.
And about 2 billion Muslims want gays hung.
Over 80 percent of the 2 billion Indians\Chinese do not want any in their society either.
I wouldn’t say it’s a certainty that gay marriage is on the “right side of history.”
“only” 12 of the 250 plus countries in the world have homo marriage, or some type of it, now.
12 too many, but most of the world does not seem to have been caught up in this whirlwind of insanity.
Apparently, two billion Christians are wrong because Tony Campolo tells us so.
i’m not sure that campolo is an evangelical. he’s a buddy of bill. i’ve heard him speak at several youth for christ events as i worked for them. hes entertaining.

Tony Campolo is part of the Emerging Church movement...that carries the liberal water.
How many "Christians" does this guy represent?
Can you list those 12 sodomite countries?
Make that 2 billion and one.
Is this the guy that was Bill “The Bent One”
Clinton’s “Spiritual Advisor”?
In a February 1994 Prism article titled What about Homophobia? Campolo said, Those who remained silent about the Jews in Nazi Germany helped sign the death warrants of the Holocaust. Those who did not speak out for Blacks can be accused of allowing slavery to continue. . . . I believe that those who do not speak up for the gay and lesbian community at this crucial time in history may be lending support to oppression.
Being Jewish or black is not a sexual behavior. Sexual acts in particular situations are being judged as immoral and against nature. Same-sex sexuality is in the same category as adultery, incest, bigamy, bestiality, pedophilia, prostitution, and polygamy. Are these also accepted sexual behaviors of the aging Campolo?
He states:.....I like Hillary Clinton. We are personal friends, he wrote in a recent article for Religion News Service..... I am more than willing to do all I can to help Hillary Clinton get elected. Should she ask me to organize an Evangelicals for Hillary committee, I would be more than willing to do so. I believe in her. And you should too.

He still knows where to get his bread buttered.
Campolla is an irrelevant self-promoter who decided there was fame to be had as a “spiritual adviser” to rich and powerful people....he clings to the mystical catholic emergent gobbedly goop... Tony and the emergent church are little more than modern versions of the Gnostics. Even John wrote about them in Revelations. We’ll be dealing with them until the wheat and tares are separated.
