Romney, the classic Massachusetts liberal, is tasked with picking a conservative candidate?

This is not going to end well for the American people.

“produces a mainstream conservative”

For them, that would be Jeb Bush, or a Jeb Bush type.

No. That is not what the article stated: “...considering endorsing a candidate to achieve his goal”. He will endorse a candidate, most likely, like himself.

So “mainstream” conservative means conservative in name only.

“mainstream conservative”

No such thing any more.

Any true conservative will be labeled “fringe”.

The former Massachusetts governor is also considering endorsing a candidate to achieve his goal.
++++
I’m going to go way, way, way out on the old limb and speculate on just who that might be. I will spin my Fairy Godmother dial and see where it lands.

Spin. Spin. Spin. And it it stops on ...
JEB BUSH.

Had it just went a few more or or a few less stops it would have landed on ...
JEB BUSH.

Hmmm. I’ve just noticed that all the stops say
JEB BUSH

The two guys who screwed up the last election were Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich, who stayed in the race just long enough to edge out the other conservatives, and then dropped out of the primaries and gave it to Romney. Who effectively dropped out of the election and gave it to the gay Muslim illegal alien Communist.

What they define as mainstream conservatism is identified by most of us as liberalism and/or code talk to stop a real conservative.

People forget, or never figured out, that Mitt thought that he was building a national power base in California.

Being totally incompetent in politics, as he has demonstrated for decades of running for office, and his leaving the GOP because of Reagan in 1979, and becoming a supporter of democrats, and a democrat fundraiser and voter, his plans for his California base didn’t succeed.

Romney bought a home in California, intending to move there after placing Meg Whitman in the governor’s office.

As usual the man was an idiot, she spent a vast fortune going nowhere, and now Mitt is trying to sell the California house, and move, not back to Massachusetts, but to Utah.

2013 “Mitt Romney Buys Massive Park City, Utah Mansion”

2015 “A broker is now showing the La Jolla home to potential buyers, a Romney aide told the Globe.”

2014 “It turns out Romney, who is moving to Utah as a full-time resident, strolled into a driver license office in late August to obtain his Utah license and filled out paperwork to register to vote at his under-construction home in Holladay, a suburb of Salt Lake City.”

Adelson was always for Mitt. Hell he even admitted that he kept Gingrich in the race to prevent Santorum’s “extreme” views on abortion out of the white house.

But....Nobody wanted to know it then and I’ve got a hunch they don’t want to hear it now.

I choose Cruz.
