 photo DSCN0009copy.jpgThis is what is left of the old Chautauqua building. It was originally built at a cost of $28,000 and seated over 4000. I presume this was where Sousa performed tho it might have been in the lake yard. A hurricane destroyed most of it in 1975 and this is all that is left. They have been hoping to restore it ever since but the cost would be in the millions today. For such a historic building one would think the government would provide a grant.
