Wonder if she actually went to Howard as she claimed? I know there is a decent cohort of white students there, but she was not necessarily one.
To #15 re Howard University. Most of the following is true; a little is made up for laughs.
My cousin was a short, chubby, white, Jewish female and got an all paid scholarship to the traditionally all-black Morgan State Un in Baltimore because she was white, a female, and Jewish. (I added in the “chubby” part because she was to some extent. Today that is a condition the gives you other “privileges”).
Thus she not only got an all paid scholar but all the hair-straightener she could use, free Fried Chicken, could take off for ML King’s Birthday, and hid Snicker Bars in her Afro.
[Most of this last paragraph is just literary license]. However, she got her degree in Social Work and actually did help a lot of minority people get legitimate help regarding jobs, education, medical services, etc.
Perhaps the best scholarship Morgan ever gave, at least to a white woman.
PS: A lot of my high school friends and teammates went to Morgan and turned out to be very decent, hardworking people. Back then, getting an education and graduating meant something, esp. to the less fortunate. Black parents sacrificed a lot to get their children into college, and it was appreciated.
Today, getting many black students to study and graduate from High School is, sadly, a Herculean chore. My how times have changed, for the worst.
