A lot in Iowa depends on how a candidate connects with voters that is more important then the make up f the district. That is how Harkin and Grassly could survive so easily in a swing state in spite of being polar opposites. It sound like he is doing the right things. Another pint is that Iowa has not defeated an incumbent member of congress except in wave years since 1992.

Sounds like a fellow with backbone deserving of direct contributions. I live in a GOP district so safe (Pennsylvania's 18th) that the Democrats didn't even bother to run a sacrificial lamb last time and, still, Tim Murphy couldn't find the cajones to vote against Bonehead for speaker.
