Hopefully it also includes the simple concept of being aware of your surroundings. IMHO.. there are a lot of young people who aren’t taught this by their parents and feel the world is “safe” (when nothing is further from the truth). They see nothing dangerous about running on a secluded bike path in the early morning or late at night. They will walk to their car.. unescorted. If this educates them about the dangers.. then it isn’t a bad thing. IMHO.
You didn’t mention walking alone with earphones on, totally oblivious to their surroundings. They can’t even hear if somebody is walking up behind them
