From the article:
Ryan: Its declassified and made public once its agreed to,
I heard Ryan discuss this with Bret Baier the other night.
This headline is misleading. It will be made public before the vote. “Agreed to” means out of committee (I do believe).

In reality, America wont survive the current make-up of Americans.Agreed.

If it doesn’t yet exist, then how can it be ‘declassified’?

I haven't time to go into all the research I can but I did read this also ...
Concerned about secrecy? TPA requires any agreement to be made public at least 60 days before a vote. Concerned about transparency? TPA allows every Members of Congress to read negotiating text and receive briefings at any time. Concerned about Congress ceding authority? TPA grants no new authority to the President, confirms the nonpartisan Congressional Research Service. http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2015/06/10/fast-track-trade-bill-why-america-must-lead-on-trade.html
I will research more. Hopefully, this has just grown out of control report wise and the above is the actual case.

I dont understand why some here are supporting this TPP stuff, do you have any ideas? Because Ted Cruz supported it.
bullseye
I am saddened that Cruz has gone this route. I was hoping better for him.
On another note: how can these things be said not to exist if members can read them in a controlled area, can't take their notes out of the classified area, and can leak things to WikiLeaks?
Seems hard to do with stuff that 'doesn't exist'.

Disappointed that my representative Steve King has indicated his support.
Need to get behind a primary challenger. And if that fails, HOLD YOUR NOSE AND PLUNK FOR THE DEMOCRAT! Can't be any worse and you can fix it 2 yrs. later. This situation is going to require multiple rounds of FIRE THE RINO before things can turn around.

YOU'LL READ OBAMATRADE AFTER WE PASS IT!Holy Shiite Batman! This is what completely confuses me. Even right-leaning Pubbies are sounding like Nancy Pelosi!
There has to be something good in this TPP stuff or you wouldn't have some of the very clear conservatives expressing some interest in its passage. But why does it need to be so secretive? My personal speculation is that there are provisions that the Left doesn't want their base to see.
Bottom line, it doesn't matter what the bill says, 0bama will just use executive order to make it mean whatever he wants it to and Congress won't call him on it. Say "NO" to any TPP while 0bama is in office ... imho.

If it doesnt yet exist, then how can it be declassified?I can't speak for Ryan. I'm just going on what he was telling Bret Baier 2 nights ago.
From Drudge headline RYAN SNAPS: YOU'LL READ OBAMATRADE AFTER WE PASS IT!,:
From article linked to that headline:
Ryan: Its declassified and made public once its agreed to,
Rearrange it. Once it's agreed to, it will be declassified and made public.
Ryan explained to Baier that means it will then be made public, before a vote.
Maybe I'm missing something here.

Republican and Democrat are heads and tails of the same coin. America wont survive Obama. Yes, there is only one party in America, it's the Incumbent Party.

The NSA knows these little things.

Perhaps you can explain how something 'that doesn't exist yet' (as Ryan claimed on TV) can be 'classified', so that it can then be 'declassified'It's probably not right for him to say it doesn't "exist". A draft agreement does exist but it isn't yet final.
No matter what you may think of the wisdom of any multi-party trade pact it just isn't realistic to think one can be negotiated fully in public. The process used here, as in all modern trade agreements, allows the administration to negotiate an agreement and then present it to the public and congress for approval/disapproval.
It's fine to insist that there shouldn't be any confidentiality in negotiations, but then also admit that no trade deals will ever get done.

If nothing has been agreed to, why is the American Action Network running so many commercials to get people to demand that it passes?
Why are our representatives having secret negotiations on things that will impact our lives?
To: DoodleDawg
Why is it classified to begin with? That answer is classified.
In all seriousness, their argument is that if the details were released now, special interest groups could pressure the negotiators to make changes that otherwise wouldn't be made.
There is some truth in that. But it does not trump the right of the people to be informed! This is not planning for D-Day, after all.
Furthermore, if the negotiators are so easily pressured, then they are not very good negotiators in the first place.

Again, how can something be classified if it doesn't even exist... You've totally lost me.
What is everyone arguing about but the TTP negotiations/conclusions (which to me is something that "exists")?
Spell it out for me. I guess I'm too dense. Don't post a link, explain what you mean "doesn't exist."
To: semimojo
I don’t care if trade deals don’t get done if they must be conducted in secret in order to get them done.
I’ve no love for past trade deals, which in my opinion, have not benefitted the USA. And, honestly, the revelations about this one AND the secrecy, make me want to kill this one now.
