The question was specifically about TPP and TPA. If he didn’t support them, why not say flat out that he doesn’t?
Granted, Walker is not eloquent in his unprepared remarks, but his support for these deals seems pretty clear, none the less.

Cruz’s amendment was defeated , he did it for political cover.

If you trust any politician too much, then you’re foolish.

Well I believe that the TPP will be passed as its a concentrated effort of the uniparty. So like it or not just like NAFTA its going to be jammed down our throats.

After they pass it we will get to see whats in it and I don’t think Freepers will like it much. I’ll be curious to see if they really put the full text up for a 60 day look see.

Here’s the quote:

identical to the rhetoric offered by strong TPP supporters. I spoke to Gov. Scott Walker of Wisconsin last Saturday, who had this to say about the TPP and TTIP (emphasis added):

Well, I talked about TTP the other day in Germany in Hanover at the industrial fair there, and I think fair and open trade is a good thing on either side of the continent for the United States, whether it’s on the Atlantic or the Pacific. Obvious the details need to be worked out and there’s a lot of details including some specific to my state that need to be worked out. But I think in the end, having a deal that’s fair and offers fair and open trade would be a good thing for the United States and for our trading partners.

Just hold on... Ted will clarify it in a big cast-iron skillet soon, as he always does.

A treaty can be abrogated with the consent of all parties, virtually impossible in this case.

If you like Walker, that’s fine.

My point in Post #51, is that Ted Cruz says he will do ALL those things I listed, including the fast track that you, and many others are upset with.

Now, if he’s willing to support this trade legislation, even with all the flak he’s getting from former supporters like yourself, then isn’t it a reasonable to conclude with confidence that he will do ALL those other things that he’s promised to do- listed in #51?

Walker? He won’t change the GOP-e. He’ll cooperate.

Not trying to be argumentative with you, just explaining why some of us continue to support Ted Cruz— like him or not, he does what he says he will do.

Okay. So here's the whole video. You shouldn't miss the first part, where Ted best explains his position.

Obamatrade, true to its name, will give Obama discretion to make international trade decisions without congressional approval. It's a way for bipartisan members of Congress to avoid blame for the decisions by their bipartisan political associate, Obama. But there's much more. And for anyone who doesn't know more about Obamatrade, this site appears to explain it.

Congress Has To Pass It To Find Out What's In It

The Economy
Obamatrade Gives Foreign Companies Unfair Advantage Over American Businesses
http://obamatrade.com/the-economy/
Obamatrade would empower foreign companies to use foreign tribunals to enforce special privileges only available to them. Obamatrade would exempt foreign companies from EPA and other onerous regulations that American firms would still be forced to comply with. Under Obamatrade, foreign companies could actually go to an international tribunal and sue American taxpayers for cash awards to compensate them for costs associated with government regulations – something American-owned companies would not be able to do.

White House confirms immigration is in Obamatrade

A White House news conference on April 28 with President Obama and Japanese Prime Minster Shinzo Abe confirms the TransPacific Partnership will impact our immigration laws. PM Abe described the TPP as “a new economic sphere in which people goods and money will flow freely.”

Well hopefully he will. The part about his so far excuse I didn’t buy was when Ted said that the reason for fast track and giving up ammendments is that if you allow ammendments no trade deals ever get passed. Well what about NAFTA? It had no trouble passing and its been a total disaster for the US. I think Dubya got about 11 trade deals through So I’m still waiting for Ted to bring me home on that one.

I’m a conservative, I don’t answer loaded questions, and neither does Ted Cruz.

You were never behind Cruz so there’s no way Cruz sold you out. If I recall, you were one of the birther instigators. Seems like a LOT of birther instigators are pushing this diss Cruz garbage or Plan B as I call it. Other FReepers caught onto the link that the behavior was traceable back to the Paulbots because Paulbots behave and argue erratically like liberals which you and the others have done over and over again in every Cruz related thread.

If I had to guess, you’re all getting your talking points and postings from the same website from a bigger nutcase. Doesn’t matter which one of you post it’s almost verbatim over and over again, like it was coming from the same person or website.

As I’ve been saying for so long, politicians in both parties are controlled by the same pool of constituents. That’s true in every level of government.

Amen! I am getting tired of the bashers. We have a few very good candidates with a chance of winning the nomination.
A stance on TPP? We don’t even know what is in the deal.

I’m waiting, too... it will happen... and I’ve got quite the mind to send him a nasty letter about unintentionally throwing UNNECESSARY broken glass under our palms and knees.

Especially now that he’s more or less the front-runner.

Well we agree on Walker. He’s a nothing burger.

But I really believe this trade deal is just poison. No republican should be backing this NWO carpola. None of them. This is no different than Nancy Pelosi on Obamacare. You have to pass the bill to find out whats in it. We are in dangerous waters here.

Cruz made a mistake. He can admit it and try to fix it.

There's a term for that, hmmm, flip-flop?

I can’t believe the discord over this. Our elected representatives are conspiring under the cloak of secrecy to pass legislation we are not permitted to read.

Why?

Does anyone really think this is not being made public because it’s good for us?

Do kids hide good report cards from their parents? Do corporations try to hide good earnings on quarterly reports? In the political arena, good news is never hidden. In fact, bad news is almost never hidden. So what’s in TPP?

I’m guessing it’s more of that “You have to get on the train to find out where it’s going” BS.

What’s worse is that all the people who ranted and raved about the secrecy of Obamacare, and rightfully so, are now cool with the secrecy of the trade bill. It’s freaking unbelievable. And yet as you can see here, it is reality.

I agree.

Why would the GOP want to give unfettered authority to negotiate a huge trade deal to the guy who is negotiating the Iran Nuclear surrender? Like they think he will do better on trade. No he won’t. It will be a disaster just like everything else he touches. Guess who will suffer? The American public.
