Getting crushed by debris is a concern. I know thousands of people were killed that way by the tsunamis off Japan and the one off the Indonesian coast.
Exactly. The debris in the water could be anything and it could crush you, trap you under water, cut you to pieces or impale you. It’s a risk just to wade in knee deep water in an apparently open area. Swim in it? Not unless it’s the only escape from some other certain death situation and that’s not likely.
