You do realize that you know that God exists and is good right? It is deep within you. One proof that you may want to ponder on is that you have never made a decision without justification...no one has. It is a universal truth that everyone in history of the world has HAD to justify every single decision they ever made or will make. Where does that need fit in with evolution? It doesn’t...it only fits in with a higher power...whom we are trying to reason subconsciously that we are doing some good to conform to His laws. Man in his weakness oftentimes perverts those laws with evil intent, but that is because of man’s weakness not God’s.
I think it is a good thing if you read the Bible, but read it for understanding rather than to try to incriminate God. Remember, it was written actually by God through man, and is much more intellectually deep than scanning through it will allow understanding. The Bible is very layered throughout...you will garner more understanding each time you read it. But, first you must study it with open heart enough to begin to understand what is meant.
Best of luck to you in this endeavor that I really hope you enter into. It will change your life forever in a very positive way if you do this. It did mine and everyone I know who has done the same. An open heart is required though and patience.
