California Gov. Jerry Brown is attempting to implement the state’s first-ever mandatory water cutbacks, among voluntary measures, and he is leading by example: “I didn’t take a shower this morning,” he told reporters in San Jose last week.
Brown also said that he has cut back on drinking water, though he continues to enjoy coffee.

He’s probably lying. Remember that what communists/leftist tout is simply marketing. What they say does not apply to them.
He’s hoping that saps will be shamed into cutting back. Just means more for him.
Communists marketing plan is that they’ll make things fair, by having the state seize all property (which includes money) and they’ll pass it out.
The reality is, by definition, since the gov gets first dibs, they take what they want and everyone else gets the scraps.

Most municipal water supplies are designed to support a daily load of 200 gallons per capita per day. Each person consumes about 75-165 gpd.
Fire demand assumes a minimum flow of about 500 gal/min or about a cubic ft/sec. Calculated fire flows are closer to about 4 times that amount.
A hose bib or shower head is rated at about 1.5-5 gal/min, depending upon water pressure and size of pipe used, with 2.5 - 3gpm being fairly typical. So a 5 minute shower consumes about 12.5-15 gal of water compared to a tub bath at about 30-60 gal.
The Governor probably needs to refocus his demonstration on how to better identify where potable water waste is most likely and which public works projects might be better prioritized to improve efficiencies.
He has good justification to deny any immigration into desert communities, especially illegal immigration or undocumented immigration. It might ultimately deny drinking water to citizens.
