How dare you site actually history, and place things in their proper historical context.
You do know that this impulse of Russia’s is the reason there was a Light Brigade at Balaclava. They died trying to prevent Russia from doing what you want. It was a major cause of the Crimean War.

BTW, by citing history I’m not trying to claim moral equivalency. Nobody but ISIS right now is doing stuff like this, at least openly and proudly.
But ISIS is quite right. What they are doing is exactly what jihad was for well over a thousand years. For 350 years the Tatars raided almost annually into Ukraine, Poland, Romania and Russia. They did pretty much what the ISIS boys are doing now.
