It comes as no surprise to me that Rand Paul does poorly with women. Most libertarians do. Pew polling shows us that Libertarians are much more likely to be male (59%) and young (33% are under age 30) than are any of the other groups. They tend to come across as unsympathetic, uncaring and rigid like an ex-husband or stern boss. It also should come as no surprise that despite his ethnicity, Cruz is doing poorly with Hispanics.
[C]ampaigns could help themselves if they took a look at GOP pollster Whit Ayress 2016 and Beyond: How Republicans Can Elect a President in the New America. ... Ayres (THE POLLSTER FOR RUBIO) makes a compelling case that the GOP can no longer win presidential elections relying so heavily on the white vote. There just arent enough of them. He explains, The number of white voters did drop from 2008 to 2012 by about 4.2 million. . . . Romney won more white votes than any Republicans nominee in this century... Even if all the missing white voters had showed up and every single one had voted for Romney, he still would have lost the election By the same token, it is clear that doing as poorly as the GOP does with female voters (especially single women) makes it extremely difficult to find an electoral majority.
So coming back to Rand Paul and Ted Cruz, its evident that these two candidates despite whatever efforts at outreach are restricting, not expanding their appeal. The GOP cannot win by relying so heavily on white males, and yet thats precisely whom these two appeal to..
Ayres argues that to expand beyond its traditional base, the GOP needs to, among, other things, eschew ideological rigidity ...

You mean the WashPo isnt endorsing Cruz or Paul ? I’m shocked.
Another example of Compost Mediots losing it!
I ll be voting dem if Jeb is the repub.
it won’t work. I like Cruz more after the likes of a Rubin analysis. Talk about bitter vetchs.
Rubin appears to be in a loop repeating the same thing using different words. There are a many doing the same thing.
She’s pathetic
Go Ted!
I’ve talked to some Reagan Democrats who are voting for Cruz, men and women.
Source considered
Let me see..... here is the heading for my next article : “Why Jennifer Rubin is a dumb broad”.
When is this silly cow going to learn that it’s better to keep quiet and leave some doubt as to one’s stupidity than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt?
Hewitt will switch positions at the drop of a hat. He was all for empathy for criminal immigration and when it became unpopular with Conservatives, he changed his tune. He is smarmy.
Categorizing someone by their name and not their words and thoughts is very lazy thinking.
Lets see...limited appeal?? To whom? Both appeal to me, however, I am for Cruz. Maybe this journalist talked to RINOs and Dems, who do not like Cruz and Paul. She didn’t talked to me...
Admitting that the sanctions were a failure doesn't = support for Obama. Everybody but the Cuban regime were hurt by the sanctions. I used to support them But, they were a huge mistake.
Unfortunately for Cruz, he most likely will lose the first four states which won’t help going further.
Iowa - Walker
New Hampshire - Walker or Paul
South Carolina - Graham -——yep....they just reelected him in 2014 overwhelmingly.
Florida - Walker or Rubio
Nevada - Walker
Why is the media ignoring Scott Walker?? even FOX.
He hasn’t announced yet. That’s way. Cruz jumped in way too early. He wanted to get the attention which he did but it has been non existent lately with bad votes and inappropriate statements.
Ok, my friend, I have your predictions. If Bush and Walker are in SC, it would seem Graham’s vote would be somewhat diminished. But, you may be right- we’ll see how you do.
A similar thing I've seen is that some political analysts group Obama and Bush together - both of their administrations dealt with some of the same issues - wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, the financial crisis of 2008 and the aftermath...
It's an interesting perspective in both cases.
