The problem for the Dems is that their bench is ridiculously thin. Leave aside the joke candidates already in the field, and all they've got is Elizabeth Warren, who, for all her socialist rhetoric (and personal profiteering from real estate flipping) and her affirmative action gamesmanship as a phony Native American, is a good talker. But even in deep blue Massachusetts she was unable to deliver a convincing victory in her Senate run.
The Borg collective that is liberal politics does not require any person in particular to win. Just to win. No matter what.
Because like any good Borg, the person is just a conduit for the hive mind/collective that is the brain (relatively speaking as it is obviously a dysfunctional brain.) Thus If the Borg Dems cannot field a winner, the Borg GOP side will.
This is perfectly acceptable to the collective since D and R exist for the purpose of optics and pressure relief, not to govern.
If Hillary sat in office today, not one thing would have occured differently over the past several years. In details yes, but the agenda would have hit all the same goals. The same applies to Romney. Not one thing would have changed. Because they are of the same collective and advancing the same agenda.
It is not a coincidence you see the leftism coming screaming out of the GOP at the same time the world has been introduced to the dude with boobs and his requisite media firestorm. It is propaganda 101.
