How a massive, silent cultural revolution has changed America
The New York Post ^ | June 6, 2015 | Kyle Smith

Posted on 06/06/2015 2:21:48 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

It happened without a Summer of Love, without Timothy Leary, without a groovy anthem or a shaggy new national look. In the past decade or so, there’s been a silent revolution in American culture, one at least as profound as the ’60s upheavals.

We’ve hardly taken notice of it, because it happened in people’s minds instead of in the streets, happened in ordinary people instead of in the elites and the punditocracy.

Compared to just a few years ago, we have a completely different set of ideas about what constitutes acceptable behavior. As Caitlyn Jenner puts it in her new reality show, “I’m the new normal.”

Consider America circa 2002: Not that different from today, seemingly. A time traveler who spent a few hours walking around your town then and now might have a difficult time filling a small notebook with observations about what’s changed. Maybe there are more Starbuckses. And what happened to Blockbuster Video?

Yet support for gay marriages to be treated the same as straight ones went from 39% just nine years ago to 60% today, according to Gallup. As recently as 2010, a clear majority opposed gay marriage. Today, a large majority support it.

As for the broader issue of whether gay and lesbian relationships are even morally acceptable, only 40% said yes in 2001. Today that number stands at 63%.

In other words, more Americans are OK with homosexuality than were OK with divorce (59%) in 2001. A decade ago, a plurality of Americans did not even believe that homosexuality is innate.

Today, by a margin of 51% to 30%, Americans think if you’re gay, you were born that way....

Not really. It's just that the "new normal" is trumpeted so loudly and so continuously it drowns out all other voices.

All those years of propaganda have conditioned the masses.

Goes to show you...he who controls the media controls the hearts and minds of a majority of the public. Most people can easily be manipulated.

If the republicans take the White House in 2016, they would be foolish not to try and neuter the MSM. Look at what the MSM my did to George Bush. Of course he contributed to it by rolling over and never once defending himself...or the country.

“All those years of propaganda have conditioned the masses.”

Lot’s of truth to that comment, and I think we’re all susceptible to some of it. I wonder what the world would be like right now if propaganda had not been facilitated by technology.

Years of preparation and the capture of all American institutions including but not limited to; media, business, academia, churches, courts all coupled with an endless stream of identical leftist propaganda has gained the left nearly total control. Additionally conservative opposition is leaderless and hopelessly divided into small ineffective groups.

No we don’t have a “completely different set of ideas about what constitutes acceptable behavior”. Speak for yourself. AND it has been ANYTHING BUT silent. SO contrary to silent, many voices are not heard at all, because the NOT silent have silenced them!

Mass media gave the tiny percentage of oddballs and obsessives that would have lived out their lives in the French King’s court, or in the elite of the artsy portion of the major cities, access to the general public, and a new means to shape our thinking and opinions.

After all, “it’s just a movie”, or ‘it’s just a TV show”, when the left wants something today, they just spend 10 or 20 years brainwashing us, until we come to see that issue, as they see it.

That wasn’t so easy before they could put realistic moving images before our eyes, and bring us into an almost mirror image of real life, where for hours daily, we watch indoctrination as entertainment, we plug into their reality for 3 to 10 hours a day, everyday, forever, from toddlers until we die.

Maybe I'm the odd man out here, but I don't givva sh!t what homos do as long as they don't harm anyone else.

I don't even care about homo marriage and am baffled as to why so many folks think it's going to destroy the republic. I laugh at those contentions.

But I'll be damned if I'll call Bruce "Caitlyn" or refer to a he as a she.

They are not going to be in control of what I THINK or what I SAY and neither are the evangelicals who think I'm going to rot in hell because I am not interested in altering the behavior of homos. Or because I'm not interested in denying homo's access to the state institution of "marriage".

But if they try to make me bake them a cake, I'll shoot them.

Doesn't land a glove on the real cause of the revolution,i.e. most are no longer interested in having and raising kids and handing down a viable culture to them. They've taken Hezekiah's way out.

16 And Isaiah said unto Hezekiah, Hear the word of the Lord. 17 Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store unto this day, shall be carried into Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the Lord. 18 And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. 19 Then said Hezekiah unto Isaiah, Good is the word of the Lord which thou hast spoken. And he said, Is it not good, if peace and truth be in my days? II Kings 20:16-19.

Unfortunately, the apple continues to rot from within. It will take a major cataclysmic event (total financial meltdown, ‘nucular’ war) to teach Americans the error of our ways.

First engineered by sociologists Marshall K. Kirk and Erastes Pill, in their 1989 book, “After the Ball - How America will conquer its fear and hatred of Gays in the 90s” (Penguin Books).

This has been a guidebook for homosexuals to gain acceptance, acquiescence, and active support for anything and everything they do. It subdivides people into three groups.

1) Those who embrace anything and everything already.
2) Those who reject it as aberrant and destructive, and who then become targets for hatred and vilification.
3) Those who are desensitized to all aspects of the homosexual lifestyle, indifferent to things they would have previously found horrifying or criminal.

Importantly, besides the homosexuals, who have carried out their agenda to a great degree, the effort is shifting to any and every other form of sexual deviation: that society cannot abhor or even ignore it, they are *required*, *forced* to embrace and admire it, from young childhood up.

“Give us your young children, that we may know them”, in a purely Biblical sense.

In many ways, America of 2015 is more like Rome of 215 than America of 2005.

Well, at least they’ve created the perception, with articles like this and a million like it.

It’s mostly lies though.
