This is one of my favourite speeches from this man. He who spoke far more of others than himself IMHO is one of many examples of how infinitely both a better man and President than another one we all know too well (will not mention his name in this company).

Then there’s the lyin’ king’s comment: “Norman who?”.

President Reagan gave that speech 31 YEARS ago, and it is still the “Gold Standard” for D-Day Speeches.
31 years and 4 presidents later, nobody has topped it.

I almost hate listening to Reagan's speeches. The reason being that they were so good and he was IMHO the greatest President in my lifetime. It depresses me when I hear a speech like "You didn't build that!" or the condescending "Everybody agrees..." or the thuggish statement, "The police acted stupidly."
It makes me want to weep at how far we've fallen since those days when we were a respected country and the world looked to us for leadership.

Thank you for posting. Has always been my favorite. I agree - the best ever. He gave a speech and he really said something we could grab onto. Imagine that! Have we said goodbye to those days? For the sake of our children and grandchildren, I surely hope not.
