VALENTINA LISITSA PLAYS THE CHOPIN ETUDES

This “allegro con brio” in 2/2 is the famous “Winter Winds” etude. After a short “lento” introduction, the theme is played in the left hand while the right hand plays high speed tricky fingering.

VALENTINA LISITSA PLAYS THE CHOPIN ETUDES

This “allegro molto con fuoco” in 2/2 is nicknamed the “Ocean” etude. It involves a fifth finger to thumb interchange on both hands simultaneously. Adam Neiman said he found this easier to play than the Opus 10/1 etude, but I differ with him.
