VALENTINA LISITSA PLAYS THE CHOPIN ETUDESThis “allegro con fuoco” in 2/2 is nicknamed the “Octaves” etude. It involves alternating the fourth and fifth fingers on the top note of the right hand octaves and iron control of the left hand octaves. The middle section in B Major and 3/4 is a welcome relief before the rampaging octaves return.
