When America was leading in education, teachers didn't joke with the students about sex toys and searching their parents bedrooms, in the assumption that they would find them, or with the assumption that students or the parents would even know what they are.
There was a time when teachers were focused on advancing the kids, in all ways, and everything that they did. Everything that teachers said, or joked about, was intended to advance the students and their character in a positive way.
Several generations of teachers, in my family. The ones that have passed, are surely spinning in their graves, over what passes for *teaching*, these days.
