I always kind of liked Aziz and felt sorry for him in that I felt he was probably a good guy trapped in a no win role under Saddam. That said, he did cast his lot with the evil dictator.

At least Saddam didn't slaughter Christians and force women to wear burquas. He kept Iran in check as well. The ironic thing is that if we had allowed him to take Saudi Arabia's oil fields like the government claimed was his intentions, we probably would not have been attacked on 9/11. I certainly don't like dictators but the replacements have been far worse for us.
