U.S. Army soldier Austin Arledge was supposed to return from Afghanistan in August but decided to arrive early and keep it a surprise from his mom.
Austin snuck around from a neighbor's house and ducked on the side of the house waiting to for his mom to come outside.
Someone ran into the house and asked her to come outside and she was shocked beyond belief to see her son standing there and immediately began crying and screaming.

Uhh. FWIW, husbands who stage a surprise return like this are sometimes the one surprised.
Guns don't kill people. Husbands who come home early do.
Yeah, like the days gone by ‘milk man surprise’.
I remember something like this about 60 years ago. A soldier on leave decided to slip into his home and surprise his parents in the morning.
As he slipped in a window, his dad shot him dead thinking he was a burglar.
