Waco police seeking to bar information about Texas biker shooting

As questions remain unanswered about the last month’s deadly biker rampage in Waco, Texas, police there are trying to clamp down on public information about the case.

The move as scrutiny intensifies over the Waco Police Department’s handling of the sensational shootout that killed nine bikers, injured 18 and saw an unprecedented 175 people arrested and charged with engaging in organized crime.

By law, crime and arrest reports containing basic data — information such as a detailed description of the offense and the name and a description of the victim — have to be provided.

[...]

Yahoo News submitted a written request on May 19 for reports related to the nine people who were shot and killed at the Twin Peaks restaurant.

On Wednesday, the Waco City Attorney’s office asked the Texas Attorney General for permission to withhold the records from Yahoo News and other media outlets that have made similar requests.

Why not question the Fed organizations associated with this action?

Nine men dead, mass roundup of people, and absurd charges and bail.

When did they do this to the Mafia or Mexican smuggler gangs?

If the biker clubs had been black the entire country would be in flames now.

Amazingly there were writers in the immediate aftermath of the Waco biker shootings pointing to them as proof of institutionalized racism against blacks.

I'm still not sure how they came to that conclusion.

All this stonewalling does is make the authorities’ case against the bikers look worse and worse. Right now, I’m not about to speculate about who shot whom or why. From the very beginning, it struck me that, with the large number of people involved and the surrounding chaos, it would be hard to make a solid case against any of the potential defendants. As time goes on, it looks more and more that way.

The more they hold back, the more the stink.

Whatever happened with the claim that the popo were offering freedom in return for agreement not to sue for wrongful arrest?

No rumor is true until The State denies it.

A couple of defense lawyers pointed to each other as the originators of the offers. That’s being litigated separately now. The city, DA, and justice-of-the-peace have asserted the offer(s) didn’t come from them.

The attorney making that claim says it was a lie originated by a rival attorney, and he was filing a complaint with the bar association.

The rival attorney's office claims they made no so statement. But buried in one of the articles was an interesting statement: the attorney alleged to have made the claim was a former prosecutor, fired by the McLennan County DA, and was romantically linked with someone in either the sheriff's or police department.

This whole thing did not pass the smell test from the very beginning. And the foul odor emanating from the Waco government continues to grow. It’s CLEAR that the government authorities are in FULL COVERUP MODE.

Imagine the smell when they actually are forced to release information.

Remember the Richard Burton version of “1984”? When I read things like this, I am brought back to the scene of the rows of workers “fixing” facts and historical events.

That film was flawed, but it actually gets BETTER with age.

a young attorney who was previously associated with the local DA has had the donkey tail of blame pinned on her posterior. She is denying the accusation.

There will be plenty of “blame” to share before this is over.

My gut tells me that nothing local in Waco can explain such a wild abuse of power. ONLY a Fed Gov Agency could possibly have screwed this up so badly.

BATF admitted they were there. They posted it early on their “official” Twitter account. Now that account has vanished. It is no longer in the database. And I have seen other clear indicators that there is an outside agenda connected with this.
