Also censored from this story is the fact that it was a black on white hate crime. Whenever there is a black on white violent crime the races of the victim and perp should be reported just like when the Corrupt Liberal Media reports that a white police officer shoots a black suspect.

Forcible rape, according to most criminologists, is a hate crime in itself and with interracial forcible rape the black on white forcible rapes outnumber the reverse by a ratio of 14 to 1. And in this case, which is a sexual homicide, the hate ratio is 48 to 1.

If Kitty Genovese had been armed with a concealed handgun she would not have been a suitable target for rape and murder.

I don't think that is quite right. Using the criteria provided by the author, she would have still appeared to be a suitable target. However, she might have been a capable self-guardian.

Now, if most, or even a sizable percentage of young petite women on the street late at night were known to be armed, all of them would appear to be much less suitable targets.

"Target or not" is entirely in the POV of the attacker.

This article is making me mad for one reason: there is no evidence that Kitty Genovese was a lesbian. Her roommate at the time decided to say this decades after the poor woman’s death. It’s always amazing to me that old myths like the one created by Abe “I’m writing as bad as I can” Rosenthal give way to brand new ones.

When I was in high school, I along with the rest of my civics class watched the documentary film The Detached Americans (1964) which blamed the failure of the neighbors of Kitty Genovese to come to her aid on the hedonistic, shallow and "mercantilistic" orientation of society that was generated by America's mass prosperity following World War II. But many of us in the class quickly recognized the film's left-wing bias.
