They are going after misdemeanor domestic violence offenders.
A relative of mine had a pretty serious fight with his girlfriend during which he grabbed her cellphone for a short period of time before giving it back to her. For this he was charged with “Illegal Imprisonment”, a misdemeanor but considered a domestic charge. As a result he is never able to possess a gun for the rest of his life due to taking her phone for like three minutes while he tried to calm her down.
How long before we are all prohibited from owning “dangerous firearms” due to propensity to visit anti-tyrannical government websites?

Holding a cellphone for a few moments is “illegal imprisonment”? If someone moves another person’s cellphone is that “kidnapping? That is insane. I guess if he broke said cellphone it would be assault and battery.
