Needs to be challenged in court. Someday, soon, that remedy won’t work anymore.

Release the tapes and take these GOP traitors to the wood shed. They should all be primaried at the earliest opportunity.
In the meantime, Gov. Abbott should hear from Texans who resent lawmakers who want to keep scandals of government officials secret. He should veto this bill.

Why they picked 1985 only lawless liberals and repugnant Republicans can know. That's about the time the Republicans started scoring major defections from the Democrats. Phil Graham and Rick Perry switched sides during that period, along with many others. Also, Bill Clements, the first Republican governor since Occupation/Reconstruction won his second term in 1986.

It was not passed for what has been released, it’s for what is coming down the pike. There is a lot of talk about some serious **** that will start leaking soon, related to TX politicians. Me thinks it’s a preemptive strike.

Corruption and politics are a bipartisan problem in Uniparty America.
Interesting story and I wonder how Abbott and Patrick (Gov and Lt. Gov.) feel about it, among others.
I say 95 percent of Republicans are not conservatives or patriots, just business as usual politicians.

An unconstitutional law is void and does not need to be abided by.
It is the lawmakers who must prove that any law is Constitutional beforehand,
but that seems to change with each newly elected group of tyrants.
Did any of them do the smell test on this farce?

Release the tapes outside of Texas and see how far their stupid law gets them. LOL.

Agree with you on that. Most are political opportunists and careerists who seek office for personal gain. They only talk conservative to get votes.
With Republicans in particular, its not what they say — its what they do.

they flipped out and quickly jammed through legislation, SB19, which would criminalize this First Amendment practice from 1985 forward. Wouldn't that make it an ex post facto law, which the Constitution specifically prohibits?
