My guess is he's in trouble with the law for violating banking regs. Homo plague probably lost him all the lucrative graft he gathered from his "Public Service" office, like his place on the board of a big ethanol scam company.

The indictments are for violating the banking regs. The cause of the banking reg violations was payments of hush money.
