This is a highly flawed study. I am surprised that a tenured Professor of any credibility would allow such a study. Unless the use of the “N” word also had the race of the person using it, the study is worthless.
given the High percentage of people who refer to themselves as the N word....this “study is laughable at best
“Niggah” being one of the mainstays of Black Urban Ebonics, one might well conclude that the worst “racist” areas were black inner cities.
If it applies to rapper lyrics then I believe it, but this is strictly a “it is whitey’s fault” meme.
Usages in the context of a term of endearment are interesting.
Is it like rednecks calling each other (and themselves) rednecks (this redneck does, in circumstances where it won’t be misunderstood), or is there a worse side to it?
Another flaw is not considering why people would be racist. Perhaps close exposure to people having similar characteristics behaving badly over long periods of time causes it. When people behave badly (drug use, crime, shooting at each other) over time, I would theorize that they don’t live as long.
Exactly right. It is hardly newsbreaking that black criminal culture uses the n-word at high rates, and reduces black lifespans as well.
