A Chinese state owned newspaper warns of a conflict with the US, unless Washington stops demanding that China halts land reclamation and construction projects in the South China Sea.
The Global Times says ‘War is inevitable’ unless the US backs down on Chinese land reclamation and the consequent rights to territorial boundaries of such man made islands. The islands that are man-made are in disputed waters of several regional nations. Some of these nations have close ties with the United States.
The US maintains that it is also maintaining the free passage of the waters of the South China Sea for all shipping. China maintains that she has historical claims on the Spratly islands.
The creation of the artificial islands from a patch of rock or land in the middle of the high seas, and the follow-up construction and the territorial claims over water, land and air, is a new phenomenon that is a game changer. China wants the United States to accept her as an equal, if not a stronger player on the world scene, and she is changing the rules of the game.

Vietnam and the Philippines will be allies, but if they are smart they will not ally with the U.S. while Obama is president. They should ally with S. Korea, Taiwan, India, Singapore, and Australia. America has become an untrustworthy ally, and it pains me greatly to say that.

Not to worry, odumbo will just keep drawing new red lines until there is a bridge all the way from China to the U.S. border. Backing down is never going to be a problem UNTIL odumbo has been removed.

China’s probing. They aren’t saying there will be a war over the Spratleys. They are saying we won’t be willing to wage it, and as such China is. The good folks in that part of the world that believed us when we said we’d take care of them are probably looking at Europe and saying, “I would bet against the US actually keeping their word.”
That’s especially true with an affirmative action hire in the WH.
Well, that is different. We long ago stopped being a country that held people responsible for their treason. In a sane world Obama would have been arrested tried and deported to his country of origin by now.
The Chinese need to understand the United States IS NOT Obama.
Obama draws lines nobody takes seriously...but it gives him the “stall” he wants until he’s out of office.
Yep....but China does have the leverage surrounding nations who are laying claim do not have.

This eventually could turn into a brutal deadly war. Those people who told us China was our good friend and trading partner that will fatten our profits, should be hunted down.
And they know they can get way with it at this point in time. Soon it will be a fait accompli and that's it then. Bummer.
