The republican base is leftist Rush. Thats the reality today. Look at the leftists they fought to empower. Romney, Bhoner, Mitch...

There's a grain of truth here somewhere, but don't miss the rest of the field of grain. The base kicked butt in 2010 and 2014. Was it because it's Leftist? Most of the candidates for the GOP nomination are social conservatives. In most ways, except for Carly, all of them are. Are they Leftist?

Here's the grain: People are conservative, especially in the GOP. They are more conservative than they are radical or idea-driven. Too literally conservative to trust an idea standing by itself on its own logic, without a lot of reassuring voices and influences around it. They are not the kind to jump on a bandwagon until it's become respectable. It's frustrating for people like us, but as we well know, we are radicals—people who focus on the radix or root, of things, and are content to let everything and everyone else catch up.

The kind of literal conservatism I'm describing can be annoying, but it is sane. Most wild-haired people lead men into danger or terrible deeds, like John Brown. That is why it is important and honorable for men like us to carefully demonstrate how life goes on better than before after our "extreme" ideas are applied.

Sane is not voting for open liberals and liberals that literally tell you in national media prior to an election that if in fact given power, they will ‘WORK WITH” Obama, the least sane leader in perhaps 500 years.

If you feel any part of that is sane, please explain which.

I think that those millions of the conservative base that stayed home on 2008 and 2012 sent the message that Obama was the new messiah of the new age. They allowed the new messiah to grab all the power he wanted especially after the second time he was elected. If he had been defeated in 2008 or 2012 there would have been a very sobering tone on the nation. The Obama balloon would have popped and the idolatry would have ended. Everybody who voted for him and everybody who facilitated his presidency fed the hysteria of omnipotence that has grown especially after the second election. Give Caligula more power, what do you expect? Give Nero more power what do you expect?

If Obama had been defeated it would have been a slap in the face to all of his pretentions and all of his radical leftist ambitions. When he was elected TWICE—there was no stopping him. Anybody with 20/20 vision could see this.

About an errant nation that had gone astray, that is a perfect description of the Hebrew nation in the dessert. God did not give up on them, instead he let them wander in the dessert for forty years until they had learned their lesson. God willing we will come to our senses.
