I loved his early shows. Once he got lefty political I just could not watch. I would not have guessed his left leanings early on. He is middle America and down to earth in his roots and the liberal crap didn't make sense to me. Instant turnoff....and I did turn him off the last 10 plus years or so. I watched the last show and it was great due to the overview and lack of politics.
Johnny was smart about keeping politics off of his show. He had his own demons, but he was watchable and funny to the very end. What a great final show he had with Bette Midler. Classy.

I turned off Letterman for years, but watched the last couple of shows with Bill Murray as the last guest and the finale. A great trip down memory lane that made me missed the David Letterman from the 1980s and most of the 1990s before the liberal stuff came to the surface.

Conservative “Middle America” is another lie of the Leftfist Media. More screwball, commie bastards rise out of America’s “bread basket” than possibly anywhere except Washington state or Vermont.
