June 27, 2011: Walker Revokes In-state Tuition For Undocumented Students Attending Univ And Colleges In Wisconsin"- On Sunday, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) signed his two-year 2011-2013 budget, which included ending in-state tuition for undocumented students attending public universities and colleges. In-state tuition for undocumented students was approved two years ago by former Governor Jim Doyle (D) after the Hispanic community struggled for 10 years to pass it."...
[Wisconsin is the only state to ever revoke instate tuition for illegals.]
______________
Posters who choose to paint Walker as supporting "amnesty" must then paint Cruz with the same brush (if they were honest).
______________
"....We need to focus where theres agreement: securing the border and improving legal immigration, [Sen. Ted Cruz] said. And once we demonstrate we can secure the borders, I think then we can have a conversation about people who are here illegally. Cruz added that he tried unsuccessfully to pass an amendment to the bipartisan immigration bill that passed the Senate in 2013 that would have barred undocumented immigrants from receiving citizenship but still allowed them to obtain permits to live and work in America. Its failure, he said, showed Democrats were unwilling to compromise on citizenship at all costs.
Cruzs anecdote again left things open to interpretation. At the time he offered his citizenship amendment, The New York Times described it as Cruz seeking a middle ground between full citizenship and mass deportation in which undocumented immigrants could still work legally in America.
On Wednesday, however, a spokesman for Cruz, Brian Phillips, clarified to msnbc on Twitter that this interpretation was incorrect and Cruz merely offered the amendment as an exercise to prove Democrats obstinacy on citizenship. It was not an endorsement of the work permit component of the bill that his amendment left intact.
Cruzs amendment had nothing to do with that issue, Phillips said.
Cruz offered an unambiguous defense of greater legal immigration, where he boasted that he had offered to expand an annual cap on H1B visas for high-tech workers fivefold in order to attract more talent to the United States...." Ted Cruz tiptoes around immigration at Hispanic business event

March 2015: We strongly dispute this account. Governor Walker has been very clear that he does not support amnesty and believes that border security must be established and the rule of law must be followed. His position has not changed, he does not support citizenship for illegal immigrants, and this story line is false, she announced in an email to journalists Thursday afternoon.
I made it clear that for me, if somebody wants to be a citizen, they need to go back to their country of origin, get in line, no preferential treatment, Walker said. In terms of what to do beyond that, again, thats something we got to work with Congress on.
Conservative Media Rallies to Walker After Tough Talk on Legal Immigration "The conservative movements leading media icons lined up to back Scott Walker after the media attempted to lynch him for talking tough on immigration.
After being attacked by outlets such as MSNBC, Mother Jones magazine and the Huffington Post, Walker stayed the course, telling the Quad City Times on Friday that American workers had to come first.".....................
Wisconsin’ state motto is “Forward”, you idiot.
Hey Yosemite....are you aware that our state motto is Forward? Get a grip
OK, so you don't like Walker. Let me give you a clue. I, and I suspect many others, don't read stuff that is obviously prepared offline and then copied and pasted to every thread. So if you want me to read the bad stuff you have on Walker, type it in like the rest of us do.
Strange that Wisconsin’s Gov Dewey chose a socialist term for the state’s motto, back in in the 1850’s. Maybe he didn’t realize the connotation/connection.
State Motto: “Forward”
Adopted: 1851
In 1851, Governor Dewey had asked UW Chancellor John Lathrop to design a new state seal. It is alleged that the motto was selected during a chance meeting between Governor Dewey and Edward Ryan when the governor went to New York City to have the new seal engraved. Ryan objected to the Latin motto “Excelsior”, which Lathrop proposed. According to tradition, Dewey and Ryan sat on the steps of a Wall Street bank and designed a new seal, choosing “Forward” as the motto.
