Just based on personal observation, I agree with you, too high. Again, just my own experience, I don't know even one self professed queer. Stretching the old memory back, I cannot remember ever knowing one.

CDC came out with a study on AIDS in 2013 IIRC...pretty definitive numbers based on reporting and tracking of AIDS cases...less than 2 percent of the population—gay males—were responsible for 63% of new AIDS cases.
Meaning total population of homosexuals (men and women) make up less than 4% of the entire US population.
