I find some of the comments by Catholics interesting but so sad. The statements “it’s the church not the individuals” leaves them empty. The Catholic Church IS the pope and the magisterium. The “vicar of Christ” they tell us.

The Church is the Mystical Body of Christ, and has endured bad popes, had more than one pope at a time, and even no pope. When you have endured 2000 years, stuff happens. Oh, you wouldn’t know that.
