BULL!! I purchased liquor in a store in Ohio, and the register was configured to accommodate such cards. I questioned the clerk, and he through his hands up.
Alcohol, pop, candy are not paid for on a Link card. I don’t know about this liquor store of yours.
There are two kinds of EBT cards in Ohio. The EBT food stamp card cannot be used for booze or anything inedible such as soap or paper products, hot foods for consumption on premises and such. The EBT cash card can, it also can be used at ATM’s. Such cards are where we hear of benefits being spent at strip clubs, liquor stores, pot dispensaries, etc.
Doesn’t the EBT card access both a Food Stamps and general welfare accounts?
IIRC general welfare can be spent on anything?

Cash registers are standardized...but more than likely the food stamp option was there to pay for your limes , diet coke and non-alcoholic margarita mix...
