The deadly gun battle among several factions of biker gangs in Waco, Texas has social media users questioning the civility of its police intervention in the wake of Baltimore and Fergusons uprisings.
Theyve recovered at least 100 weapons, Deray McKesson, a high-profile activist wrote on Twitter. The (National) Guard would be mobilized now if, black.
With photos showing detained members of the criminal motorcycle gangs plugging away at their phones as police calmly stand guard, activists are quick to point out the disparity of the situation.

They were at the Don Carlos restaurant nearby in the shopping center.
You really need to do a news search. I’m in the Maryland suburbs of DC and we were paying very close attention to the Baltimore situation.
Baltimore PD was handed down restrictive ROE’s as well as being woefully lacking in proper crowd containment training. Look back at the numbers of officers injured.
There are numeroud threads that document the facts accurately, seek them out.
Most weren’t gang members but were regular bikers. It was a scheduled Central Texas riders’ meeting. Click the link to the meeting a few posts up and check out the names of the other clubs like the Disciples For Christ MM 1st Annual Jericho Run. It’s not likely CNN will report that.
Thats the wrong way to look at it. They just comparing thug to thug. So if anyone in Baltimore thinks that they are activists, they have another thing coming.
The_Reader_David was insinuating that there was police intervention that occured. I agree with you, ROE was very restrictive from what I’ve read. I disagree with The_Reader_David’s statement that there was police intervention. I do not consider restrictive ROE to be intervention.
I still cant believe there were families with children at a soft t***y bar. Yes, Twin Peaks is a step below Hooters.
<><><><
I gather you mean a cleavage bar. Or is twin peaks actually a strip club where the tops come off?
More like, barely covered. Cleavage is another think all together.
And what happens when the White Biker Gangs start shooting at one another in the shopping center, and instead of Rosco putting a bullet in 386 pound Tiny Tim, he misses his shot, and puts it right between a four year old childs eyes?
No innocent bystanders or police were injured during this fiasco. The bikers seem to have demonstrated that they are better shots than the average Crip, Blood or NYPD.
In any case, the bikers are all in jail, in the hospital or dead, so I think it's safe to say that Waco is doing its best to discourage this kind of behavior in public spaces.
Unlike Baltimore.
Wow...
Waco spokesman just said “22 officers were involved in the gun fight”.
Ok, we’re on the same page.
Police spokesman:
They are charging 170 people with CAPITAL MURDER??
Despite what some on FR want to claim about law enforcement, I’m impressed that L.E. in a town the size of Waco could handle a confrontation of five biker gangs without more bloodshed...or that of innocent folks in the area.
You can find some of that right here on Free Republic.

“Id be curious to know how many shot were fired by the bikers and how many by the police.”
I couldn’t care less. 5 bike gangs who openly are organized crime organizations were having a meeting to divide turf and membership.
They started a mass fight and began shooting.
This isn’t California or the east. The Waco cops and Texas DPS did just what the decent citizens of Waco want and deserve. End that childish man-child BS with absolute force.
Texas just showed how to end riots. Ill never understand this affection shown for gangs just because they are on a motorcycle.
If this was bloods, crips, Mexican mafia and MS13 having a gang summit and the cops stopped them hard when they started shooting, everyone would cheer.
“These biker gangs are a scourge on society but something about the police actions in this instance seems somehow distasteful.”
WHat a bunch of crap. The Waco cops saved the day. The criminal biker summit was taking place. The management of twin peaks utterly refused to cooperate in any way with discouraging the event from happening in a restaurant in the city.
The cops unhappily respected the private property owners bad decision. They backed off to the closest legal distance and watched. When the jackass child/men started a gun, knife, and chain fight,,, they moved in and ended it hard.
In your mind should the cops have just been nowhere in the area and waited for a call? They tried to intervene before and were rebuffed. They waited close by for the inevitable. ANd when it happened they moved in forcefully and took no losses, protected the city from spillover, restricted the losses to bad guys participating.
I see nothing even slightly distasteful about the cop actions.
“It’s not like they attacked innocent bystanders,”
Yes they did. On a mall parking lot, they were having a fight with 200+ jackasses and firing guns. They made a corner of the city unlivable. They made restaurants impossible to patronize.
That is an attack on bystanders.
If the girl babies get excited, chances are they are looking for lunch
= = = = = = = = = = = = =
The ‘lunch’ angle was covered in sentence #1.
Sentence #2 goes on to another subject. However, I didn’t include the TG ‘family’......<: <: <:
“I’d also like to know just what the restaurant was supposed to do to stop it. It’s a regular biker stop and they hold meetings there weekly”
Sign on the door, no colors, no gang attire. Restaurants legally enforce dress codes every single day. They soon go elsewhere.
