"A Battle Brewing in Colorado"
It's gun rights group vs. gun rights group in Colorado, and more, this week on Tom Gresham's GUNTALK® Radio, the original nationally-syndicated radio talk show about guns and the shooting sports.
Jon Caldara, President of the Independence Institute in Denver, CO, has entered into a gun rights battle with a surprising opponent - another gun rights group. Advocates of the recent legislation in Colorado to legalize the 30-round magazine again have met with opposition from the Dudley Brown-led group, Rocky Mountain Gun Owners. The RMGO opposes ANY legislation unless it's a repeal of the current 30-round magazine ban, saying it's a Constitutional right, and is illegal. Caldara, and other supporters, think the best step is to legalize 30-round mags again, and then work on repealing any laws restricting. Caldara is also throwing his support behind ANY CO legislators that he feels are being "bullied" into a decision by Brown and the RMGO. I am outta pocket but keep me on the pinger
Hey CH
Just wanted to get the thread up; I have to leave for a while.
I thing Beretta owns Sako now.
Howdy sir
Any comments on Dudley Brown? They were just talking about him on GT.
Well, that doesn’t sound good.
The ARfcom folks don’t seem to be very fond of DUDley.
I went to the Delaware gun show today. Some interesting pieces, like two MP40 replicas, 6 foot long sword, a tripod mounted M1919 Browning - SEMIAUTOMATIC and an 1825 LeMat pistol decked out as General J.E.B. Stuart’s sidearm.
More corporate sellers than ever. Found some 30-40 Krag ammo, but no .45-70. Talked hockey with a former star in the NHL Norm Ullman. All in all, a fun afternoon.
Sounds like a great time, and you had a good day for it. I enjoy going to the shows; looking forward to getting back out now that winter’s over and going to some.
Oh, crap! They’re finally going to talk about the RMGO tussle, and I’ve still for three Sunday’s worth of shows to catch up on.
That’s what I get for taking vacation.
Thank heaven for podcasts!
