We interviewed the dispatchers and we listened to the dispatch tape, and we heard no communications at all from the Amtrak engineer to the dispatch center to say that something had struck his train,

How long before the curve had the train been running at 100+ mph?
There is a hell of a lot of invention being applied to the storytelling here. If the windshield of the train were hit by an RPG, then OK, I would expect some sort of in-cab reaction by the engineer.
If the train was going a nominal 50-60 mph, never mind 106 mph, then something impacting the front of the train or the side of the train or even the windshield of the train does not explain the sudden acceleration of the train going into the fatal curve. If you’ve ever been in a car on the freeway going 55+ mph and something falls off a vehicle in front of you...it happens so fast there is no time to react.
With the exceptional case of the projectile hitting the engineer, he falls over and pushes some sort of lever and gooses the train, this story stinks. That the train could accelerate from 75 mph to over 100 mph I find remarkable, but these electric train that are powered from a caternary are massively powerful.
Hmmm! ISIS? They did threaten a catastrophic occurrence?
The morning following the derailment,
Keene was lauded by other survivors as a passenger turned heroic rescuer on that derailed Amtrak train.
Not discussed further but worthy of mentioning again, this officer specifically stated he was returning home from DC having attended certain events related to honoring our nation's law enforcement officers as described online:

Begs the question...given the current politically charged 'anti-police' climate...were these 'police related' events and the timing of attending officers departure via Amtrak, merely coincidence - given multiple reports of 'projectiles' reaching trains travelling in that same location ?

Trains have always been targets for projectiles. young boys have thrown rocks at trains since there were trains at which to throw rocks. In modern times when children never become adults, older boys probably still throw rocks at trains in those intervals when they are out of their parents’ basements.

A good investigator or trial lawyer can or could catch him in a lie that he doesn’t remember what happened before, during and after the accident.
A good criminal interigator could get the truth out of him, perhaps play the communication tapes to show he was well aware of what was going on in the engine, or the black box data...
What’s troubling is the F.B.I. is saying one thing, but yet ? The N.T.S.B. ( who has more professional experience of investigating accidents than the F.B.I. ) is saying a totally different thing, their stories conflict each other.

There no way for a passenger or anyone to get inside the engineer while it’s in motion.
There are no doors or entry way into the engine from the passenger section of the train.
The only way for anyone to have gotten onto the engine was at the station or leaped onto the engine while going slow in the yards outside the train station.

I’ve seen him on the evening news several times, and he looks Black to me.
On the other hand, I lived in Philadelphia for three years and, in consequence of that miserable experience, everyone there looks Black to me.
