Couldn’t he get insurance for his family through his position as a senator of the U.S.?

If he is exploring insurance options so that he can go on attack with specific, factual details, that’s great. But I would think that most senators (and representatives etc.) would get great health insurance through our federal government.

Yes he could but the “employer provided” health insurance for Congress and congressional staffers consists of the plans provided under Obamacare.

But unlike the “hoi palloi” (i.e., the rest of the nation) they do fall under the usual subsidies which are income adjusted. Instead they get the same HUGE subsidies that other federal employees get for their insurance premiums. And those subsidies do not phase out based on income.

How do they do that? They did it by FALSELY CERTIFYING that Congress is a “small business” (fewer than 50 employees is required to be a small business for Obamacare) and thus the employer could provide whatever subsidies they wanted.

Ted Cruz was SMART to keep far away from this CORRUPT DEFRAUDING of the American Taxpayer. I wonder when someone will ask the duplicitous Marco Rubio whether HE is participate in the FRAUDULENT rip-off of the American taxpayers.
