The most precious thing happened to me earlier today.
A bird, mistaking our “bird-killer” giant windows for clear sky, smashed into one and fell to the porch. Usually, they
break their necks, but this one was just stunned. I put her on my finger and took her for a walk around the yard.
Then when we got back to the porch, her buddies were calling to her, so I went to put her in a tree, but she refused
to walk off of my finger. I tried to pick her off my finger, but she got wise and finally realized that I was letting her go,
and not going to have her for Thanksgiving Dinner. She flew right onto a branch in the tree.
And that was that. It was very pleasant and nice.
