I would be curious to know what the first American trade treaty was. I’ll do some research later.
But treaties should be for security. I agree.
i know some of the earliest were with the barbary pirates to pay them off. Jefferson i think. Those didn’t work. and then england several times so they wouldn’t come back and kill us.
rofl. So they wouldn’t come back and kill us. That was the best line I’ve read all day :)
I guess it worked :)
your welcome
Generally, there’s a production cycle, then you get into a port-to-port delivery situation. So you make hot chilli sauce in Texas, and it gets bulk-packed to go out of Houston’s port to Bremen, Germany (one of the dozen big ports in Europe). Some distribution point will pick up the pallet, and then it gets repacked for delivery to eighteen warehouses in six different countries (within Europe). Another pallet will get shipped to Athens, Greece and go through the same distribution plan (maybe to three European countries).
What everyone wants is a free and open deal at the port...where there’s no inspections and no rules over funny packaging material or certain elements of the sauce to get them dragged into court.
Both the US and the EU have little rules over carlights for example, and this is the big deal to prevent each from getting any hold into the car market of the other.
