he Census Bureau paid comedian Dick Gregory between $15,000 and $20,000, plus expenses, to address workers at its headquarters in February — and now Census regrets it.
he performer and civil rights activist, who is known to use raw language and racial terms that many find objectionable, spoke during Black History Month. But apparently he offended enough of the workers that Census is revising its policy on outside speakers.

I have not heard that name in 20 years at least, and he was old then. I can’t believe we allow this bloated government to waste billions and billions on crap like this. No one likes it, but no politician takes it on with a legitimate plan to stop it.
Isn’t this the guy who called out clinton on the murder of Ron Brown?
I am surprised he’s still breathing. It’s been 50 years or so since he was a comedian.
the social justice racket hires unfunny no-talent has-been comedians like Dick Gregory to denigrate caucasian people in racist terms.
Gregory has a sweetness about him that may not be evident to an audience; and a great sense of humor. That his views on race may be shocking, they are not without a context. His destiny is to come to the G-d of Israel and lead his people into Torah Life.
He was. I thought he might have gone through a conservative phase, but maybe he was just erratic and into conspiracies.
Eldridge Cleaver did go through a conservative period before he died, even converting to Mormonism at one point.
The funniest line on All in the Family was when Mike says, "Archie, I can't believe you voted for Nixon ... instead of for Eldridge Cleaver."
I dont remember his having spoken on the matter..but he may well have.

I did find some material about his having been “suspicious” of the “official” story....yes.
