how long does it take to get a train like that up to 106 mph? a mile, maybe 2?
can't believe there is nothing in place to slow that train down should the speed be that high...

I wonder what the speed limit was before the curve. Seems 106 mph is a little high. Here in the central valley of CA, I think I heard they were restricted to approx. 80 mph.

Read somewhere that the train should have started slowing down at least 3 miles from that curve.
