The Vatican/Pope/what have you also is always speaking how Europe should let in those boats of Africans and Muslims. IOW the Vatican perversely works for the de-Christianization of Europe.
Lots of these holy men of any stripe have their heads way up in the clouds and are delusional and uncaring about the impact on the average man.
You are kind when you say their heads are in the clouds. Actually they are somewhere a lot lower. Encouraging immigration of Muslims into any non-Muslim nation unless they are clearly reformist Muslims is insanity. Not just the current Pope, but the higher level clergy and officials of many mainline Protestant churches are guilty of this defective thinking.
