I've tried to figure this out. He goes from Target cashier to conductor on AMTRAK?
Then on to engineer?
My grandpa spent decades working on trains. At the end of his life he got promoted to an AMTRAK conductor.
And AMTRAK didn't even exist until 1971.
Quite a prestigious position for a Target cashier.
Might have been a bit over his head.

No, he was looking to have someone come in with his head.
He was a Target cashier TEN YEARS ago. In college.
What did YOU do in college? Did it have any bearing whatsoever on your current career.
Man, this is a fun thread. The yahoo brigade is in full braying mode!!!!
Might have been a bit over his head.
Yes, isn’t that the conclusion regarding the German wings pilot...that he was in the back serving tea, then he was fast tracked to the front seat....shall we say friends in the right places....
The guy is 32.
10 years ago he was 22; big shock that he might have just a MW job.
2 years before I was a submarine engineer (ingenuity, not engines, like this) I was a cashier and a delivery runner. Had been for 6 years. But then, I was also just college-age.
