The objection, dearest sister in Christ, was that I had sung a "religious song" at a "secular event."

Oh, how things have changed since I was in High School! In various years, I sang both the Schubert and the Bach-Gounod Ave Maria, and the sublime Gesu Bambino, by Pietro Alessandro Yon — at the annual Christmas Assembly. [This in a Massachusetts public high school. Those days are gone forever.]

I was in very good voice then. Now, I don't sing at all, except when I'm doing the dishes!

Shame on them and on the justices who removed the Name of God from publicly funded schools. Their decision effectively established atheism as the religion of the land:

Mary had a little lamb,
His fleece was as white as snow.
And everywhere that Mary went,
The Lamb was sure to go.

He followed her to school each day,
‘Twasn’t even in the rule.
He made the children laugh and play,
To have a Lamb at school.

And then the rules all changed one day,
Illegal it became;
To bring the Lamb of God to school,
Or even speak His Name.

Every day got worse and worse,
And days turned into years.
Instead of hearing children laugh,
We heard gunshots and tears.

What must we do to stop the crime,
That’s in our schools today?
Let’s let the Lamb come back to school,
And teach our kids to pray!
